In May this year I was diagnosed with rectal cancer. Hearing those words was the scariest I have ever felt in my life. I was very fortunate to have Mr Vanash Patel as one of my surgeons at Watford General Hospital. He is professional, kind, genuinely caring and interested in your wellbeing. He ensured I had all my investigations in place to confirm what was suspected on colonoscopy in less than 72 hours. Scary as the diagnosis was, the anxious wait for investigations to confirm the diagnosis is harder to endure. Mr Patel’s efforts ensured all investigations were done swiftly to receive confirmation of my diagnosis. Mr Patel is very patient, and I never felt rushed with any of my consultations. He took great care to address my concerns and to explain everything to me in the clearest possible manner including treatment options, procedures and after care. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Mr Patel for the exceptional care I received. I am very pleased with the outcome of my surgery.
