I am a Consultant General Surgeon with a specialist interest in colorectal surgery practicing in London and Hertfordshire, England and take enormous pride in providing my patients with a personalised, safe, caring and informed service.
I am currently an NHS consultant at Watford General Hospital, which is one of the top performing hospitals for bowel cancer treatment according to the annual National Bowel Cancer Audit. In addition to seeing patients on the NHS, I also see patients in my private practice. My patients often experience debilitating conditions such as colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease and hernia. But working together, my patients are involved in the decision-making process and we plan and prepare for the best treatment option for them.
During my career, I have been involved in medical and clinical research, publishing in peer review journals and have presented at national and international conferences. I hold a Doctor of Philosophy degree and Diploma from Imperial College and obtained a Masters in Surgical Science, also from Imperial College. I am an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College and I am involved in teaching and training the future generations of surgeons.
I am a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPGBI).
I completed my medical training at St Georges Hospital Medical School, London and have completed two fellowships at St Mark’s Hospital and the Joint London Colorectal Clinical Fellow at St Thomas’ and University College London Hospitals. This was an invaluable experience and gave me an opportunity to reinforce and expand my practice in laparoscopic surgery, primary malignancy, recurrent/advanced malignancy, inflammatory bowel disease, abdominal wall reconstruction, intestinal failure, pelvic floor, and anal fistula.
